If a girl with 13 years and a child with 15 have no signs of development puberal is reason enough to go to consultation. In the girls, as appears the breast button is going to produce the acceleration of growth. However, in children this happens at the end, that is, when already have fully developed all its characters secondary sex. Although in children the precocious puberty is less frequent, a growth of the testicles, penis or hair pubiano before age 9 can be a symptom of that there is a pituitary tumor or hypothalamus.

The precocious puberty

The precocious puberty is defined as the emergence of characters secondary sex (hair pubiano, armpit hair and breasts) before the age of 8 in the girl and the 9 to the child. The progression of clinical picture leads to a maturation accelerated bone and the emergence of early menarche (first rule). If there are between 8 and 9 years is called puberty early, a situation that is the bottom of the normal distribution. In the physiological development in the girl is usually appear in the first place the button breast, secondly, the hair pubiano (although in a each 6 girls appears this before) , in third place, the armpit hair and finally the rule. However, this order can be altered, especially in the cases in which the precocious puberty does not depend on the secretion of pituitary hormones (precocious puberty of origin central or gonadotropin dependent), but that is triggered by the independent production of estrogen in the ovary (precocious puberty or peripheral gonadotropin independent).

The precocious puberty is more prevalent in girls

The precocious puberty or advance is a phenomenon at times hereditary. In a 1 percent of girls and in a 5 percent of the children have a family history. The incidence of precocious puberty is estimated at 1/5000-1/10000 newborns alive. It is much more frequent in girls than boys (proportion 11:1 PM). It is also much more frequently than either of unknown cause in the girl (idiopathic) and because of an organic process in more than 40 percent of children.
